Significant Growth in Attendees

SFF 2021 saw a significant year-on-year growth in attendees, with approximately 60,000 attending the event. This represents an increase of almost a third on the previous year, demonstrating the growing interest in the sector.

On top of this, live broadcasts attracted over two million views, more than half of which came from outside Singapore. You can view the Singapore FinTech Festival 2021 in figures by taking a look at the infographic attachment to this post.

Theme: Web 3.0 and its Impact on Financial Services

The main theme of SFF 2021 was ‘Web 3.0 and its impact on financial services’.

Key highlights of the week-long event included a Web 3.0 certification programme, where participants from over 80 countries were awarded knowledge certificates from the Asian Institute of Digital Partnership and the National University of Singapore.

Over 5,000 certificates were issued throughout the event using blockchain technology. The programme will continue until September 2022, so it is expected that more certificates will be awarded over the coming months.

SME Day

Newly launched at the festival in 2021 was SME Day: a whole day dedicated to leaders and academics in the small to medium enterprise sector. Participants were able to share knowledge and skills to help each other build resilient, strong, future-proof businesses. Digital Certificates of Knowledge were awarded to successful participants, with around 84% of learners achieving this goal.

Singapore recently became recognised as one of the world’s top global hubs for FinTech – you can learn more by taking a look at the embedded PDF.
