Jeremy Cole

Jerry Cole’s most recent venture was establishing the Fintech start-up Bixie, which aims to empower women in terms of their banking and finances.

Bixie combines several of Cole’s areas of interest – fintech, financial literacy and women’s banking – as the company works to improve women’s banking through tools, knowledge and networks. Encouraging women to generate and save wealth, Bixie provides end-to-end support throughout the customer’s journey, from onboarding to investing.

Having spent seven years as Director of Red Rose, Jerry Cole oversaw the company’s success, reaching more than 100 million beneficiaries in 40 countries. Before co-founding the company, he gained experience in a variety of different roles and industries. Starting his career at McKenzie Group, Cole was Group Accountant, reporting to the Board on the company’s results. Between 1997 and 1999, Cole was the European Financial Controller at Adcore Strategy, where he developed Information Technology strategies for various blue-chip companies.

Cole joined MLS Business PLC in 1999, and in 2001 he accepted the role of Financial Director. During his three years in this position, MLS – a business service company – became one of the fastest-growing small companies in the United Kingdom. Becoming the Head of Risk, Audit and Compliance at GOAL Global in 2004, Jerry Cole was responsible for reporting to the Audit Committee, CEO and Board on matters related to risk for the not-for-profit organisation, which operates in 14 countries with a mission to help the poorest of the poor.

Education:
Jeremy Cole has a strong educational record, with three university qualifications: a BSc degree in Economics and Accountancy from City University; a MSc degree in International Banking and Finance from the University of Southampton; and an MSc degree in Care Policy and Management from City University. In 2000, Cole qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Interests:
Cole has a variety of interests including sport and travel, and has travelled extensively in Asia and Africa. A member of CALP, Cole holds an additional directorship with Last Mile Technology Ltd.
